Great article. It's a shame you have to spell out what should be a rational train of thought. I remember learning how to critically think back in school..
Thinking Dems have an open border policy is laughable at best. Biden and Obama both deported more people than Trump ever dreamed of. It’s all a political game, always will be for both sides. Both parties are wholly uninspired to fix any issues, not just immigration. We have plenty of resources and land to accommodate people seeking asylum. We have plenty of resources to help the people that need help right now who are American citizens, we just chose to direct the money hose towards capital, military, and austerity, rather than helping people. Immigration, poverty, housing is all a policy choice and can all be solved pretty simply if we so desire.
I mean we they do man - there's 8K people a day literally walking through. Sure Republicans are likely also to blame but until the border is closed properly the administration is actively condoning it.
What does “border is closed properly” mean? I’m genuinely asking. I agree that everyone gets so caught up in the political game of it and it is a simple issue. People are trying to seek asylum (many because the policies we enacted on their home countries). So what do we do with them?
How do you physically prevent? And don’t say a wall because it’s proven to be extremely porous and just a political symbol. And do you agree with beefing up the asylum seeking apparatus to allow for immigrants to be processed and get a court date set? Btw most migrants who cross illegal, go straight to border patrol to be apprehended.
Given the focus on politics here from left and right, I find it a bit incredulous you didn’t once mention the hypocrisy of guys like DeSantis and Abbott promoting themselves politically as devout Christians. Proverbs 13:41 He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God. The people putting migrants in detention centers are these so called “Christian” politicians. They are a disgrace to actual devout Christians everywhere.
Obama put people in cages man. This isn't a one sided issue at all. I presented a very objective take on an issue that really isn't that complicated lol.
Yea Obama absolutely did, I wasn’t giving him any credit for anything. I’m not sure how he’s relevant here. I just pointed out that you missed a pretty glaring point, which is that these guys all market themselves as pro-life Christians, when their actions are, to borrow an adjective from you, diabolical.
I would not say their actions are diabolical as that implies malice on their part, political, sure, but hey, their politicians.
Instead of fuming over this political stunt, sanctuary states and cities should "turn the other cheek", in this case, acknowledge that this was done as a reaction to their own policies and use it as an opportunity to build out policies and a framework that can enable them to continue to be a sanctuary city/state. Otherwise, it might be time to retire the phrase.
I disagree with you, sorry. Taking migrants who have paid away their life savings to travel thousands of miles, who along the way endured hardships you could not possibly imagine, and shipping them across the country to a place that is 100% incapable of supporting them (Martha’s vineyard was chosen for a reason) is entirely diabolical. It’s definitely a political stunt but being political and being evil are not mutually exclusive.
Eh I don’t think anything about this situation is funny or something to “lol” over. Perception and reality are two entirely different things, time will tell if these people should be grateful or not. No sense in us continuing to beat this dead horse.
Would like for someone to explain how would they solve the issue. Currently, for someone to come legally to the US they need to either marry someone and wait a year, come to study, graduate and get sponsorship (usually 6 years and thousand of dollars) or apply to get it with family (usually a 10+ year process). If you’re from one of these countries were your children are being haunted by gangs, and you have literally nothing to loose, how do you incentivize them to come here legally? How can we make it easier for top talent to be able to apply easily? At the end of the day it’s politics, from both right and left.
Pretty arrogant for a country that‘s whole history is based on illegal immigration, killing residents to live there instead and causing all the problems that lead to those immigrants. Maybe if your country wouldnt be destroying the rest of the world for the interest of shareholders - its not even important if its profit from oil like in syria or venezuala or simply drugs - there wouldnt be illegal immigration, but independent economies from which nobody has to flee from. Do not act like your government wouldnt work with russia to keep the control in the hand of few and face the fact that this is what you get for accepting to build an empire on a mass grave and corruption.

I’d define this as no one enters without going through the legal processes we have.
First step is to physically prevent people from just walking across the border. Funnel traffic through limited points of entry.

understood and I don't disagree with you!

You can disagree with me but they were interviewed and were thankful for DeSantis sending them there lol

Fair - agree to disagree
Of course you can disagree.
Great ARB Letter Andy!

Completely agree - nice letter!
