Intro
This will be a shorter piece on the recent Trump Raid at Mar a Lago.
*Disclaimer* - If you don’t have the ability to discuss politics objectively or if you consider yourself a Trump hater or far left - don’t read this - you won’t agree with it and you will get angry and leave me petty troll comments.
I will be ruthless in culling comments that devolve into partisan drivel. We’re adults here and you need to realize that the impact of this event, regardless of how you feel about Trump, is going to ripple throughout politics for the next 4 years.
The purpose of this quick review is not to take a side, defend Trump or condemn him. The point of this post is to:
A.) Show you why this is a slippery slope
B.) Explain why this isn’t good for anyone in this country
Beyond those two points, this post is mainly meant to give you a lense into what sentiment is on the topic through some media exhibits, a poll, and a comment section. This isn’t a pro Trump post or Anti Trump post - it’s simply airing out ideas and takes. We will cover the details of the raid, where we see this going next, and how political figures and the media is viewing the raid so far.
Liberals and Democrats on Twitter and other platforms are jubilant this morning with the news that Former President Trump was raided by the FBI at his Mar a Lago home last night. This jubilance and animosity is in large part due to the hatred and division that has grown immensely for conservatives/Trumpers by the left.
It’s a fact that many people hate Trump for no other reason than that he is a boorish, obnoxious, white male billionaire, with a past of crass comments, frowned upon advances on women, and a litany of other items that 90% of politicians also have. They think he’s offensive, racist, misogynist, and a slew of other things as well. He called Rosie O Donell Fat. He’s done plenty of offensive things over the years. People have never liked him in part because he’s blunt and frequently tells the truth about things other politicians lie about. That was what riled up his base to begin with.
Does that mean Trump doesn’t lie? lol no not at all. It just means if you had to compare him on key issues to other seasoned politicians that deceive for a living, you might be able to get the raw truth from Trump depending on what it is we are talking about. I.E. having a functioning border, China/Russia, energy policies, and dealing with countries from a business perspective abroad.
Nothing is ever as bad as it seems, I preface this post with these musings because you need to be as objective as you can to see the concerning piece of this event. It demands you remove your political bias to see how sinister going after your political rivals in this manner really is and where it usually leads.
People will disagree with me but my take is that Trump was more efficient than most career politicians and the default opinion of him was FAR too polarized and extreme - people need to be reasonable, and just because the mainstream media slanders him at every single opportunity doesn’t mean half of it’s true. Athletes used to LOVE Trump. Rappers LOVED Trump, Wall Street liked him at one point. He used to be an American Icon. That all changed when…. when what? When he got into politics?
You have to consider where the bias lies, and it’s not on the right when it comes to media, media is inherently leftist. The fact I am even writing this paragraph is going to trigger people, that’s how controversial Trump is.
That’s not objective at all. Why do you think half the country loves him? You think they’re genuinely all complete morons? Great lol they think the same exact thing about you. Now where did that get us?
For every person I know that deplores Trump there are other MAGA people that would call him an absolute saint and god if I asked them. Two sides of the coin here. If you’re finding yourself wrapped up in the Jan 6 media talking points, “inciting violence”, and other dramatic cliche slander tags than you’ll likely not appreciate this post.
I’m not saying those things didn’t happen to some extent but to the objective viewer they’ve been highly dramatized and abused as fear points for the left to demonize the right and retain power and influence through an incredibly turbulent election.
*Second warning here if you’re easily triggered*
I shouldn’t have to give another disclaimer to simply write about Trump but I will - I’ve never voted for Trump. I don’t like his orator skills and I think he could accomplish more without antagonizing so many but I also recognize a key fact - he is hated ultimately because he is an outsider and because he represents a large contingent of conservative America. He is hated because he rallied an insane base and he threatens the most powerful people in Washington DC.
He is without a doubt the single most highly scrutinized and slandered politician in recent history and in my humble opinion many people hate him, especially the younger generation, without even knowing why they’re supposed to hate him - it just became the cool thing to be or do.
But let’s get into the raid itself in Mar a Lago and why we think this is bad for all of us on both sides of the political spectrum. I am afraid the Democrats might have taken a step too far on this one as we look to upcoming elections and midterms.
