365: California on Fire, A Reckoning is Here
Good morning all. The Spice is flowing through my veins today and justifiably so.
Today I want to talk about the cultural shift that’s playing out across the world but primarily in the US, as we are starting to see glaring examples of the consequences of lunatic policy develop each day. This time, it’s my home state of California dealing with insane fires that are displacing tens of thousands and ravaging homes and communities for 2 days now.
For decades the US and Western countries have moved away from their historical cultural and societal systems that ensured they dominated the world. Merit based competitive systems in which the cream would rise to the top. Paired with capitalism this generated booming economies, business growth, economic prosperity for many, and a healthy sense of nationalism for countries and their people.
But since the early 2000’s something changed rapidly — merit was thrown out the window in favor for idealistic and globalist preferences rooted in diversity, inclusiveness, and equity. In reality it’s obvious what these social movements and political initiatives were all about — unseating qualified and deserving individuals and replacing them with less competent but loyal foot soldiers for the new political ideology that took over our country and the West by storm. It was a cultural marxist movement.
Tradition was and is racist. White straight men were and are the enemy. Women could and should do anything that men historically did. Minorities or diverse individuals were championed and favored over others simply for immutable physical or racial characteristics.
Don’t misunderstand me either — if you’re a top notch performer or a highly competitive individual I don’t care where you come from, what you look like, or what you like to do in your free time — but it is an undeniable fact that the US has culturally been hijacked by leaders and organizations that no longer seek out the most qualified individuals, they instead, look to diversify for the sake of diversifying.
Culturally this is beginning to change:
Walmart, the world's largest retailer, has faced criticism over its DEI policies. In response to pressure from conservative activists, the company revealed plans to stop factoring race and gender into supplier contracts, gradually close its Center for Racial Equity, and discontinue certain racial equity training initiatives.
John Deere, a major agricultural machinery manufacturer, has faced criticism over its DEI initiatives. In response, the company has reduced its focus on these programs, shifting attention toward business operations and improving efficiency.
Ford Motor Company has faced criticism over its DEI initiatives, with concerns about their impact on business efficiency. In response, the company has chosen to step back from publicly addressing polarizing issues and participating in external diversity surveys, shifting its focus to core business operations.
Not only is this illogical but this can and has been deadly as we’ve seen endlessly over the past several years:
The Biden Administration’s insistence on hiring with DEI in mind has led to abysmal appointments to critical positions that make our country weaker and less efficient. The Southern border, disaster response in North Carolina, crime in major cities, and other pressing issues are all amplified by poor leadership and incompetent individuals putting people’s lives at risk
Boeing's focus on diversity in hiring and supplier selection may have compromised safety and quality. Allegations include hiring under-qualified personnel for technical roles and using substandard suppliers, potentially impacting aircraft reliability. Whistleblowers have also testified about production issues and discouraged safety reporting
The US military has had massive equity and DEI pushes. The vaccine mandate caused a mass exodus of competent soldiers and Tier I operators from important units and groups within our fighting force, lessening our effectiveness
New York City, led by far left lunatics has had a stabbing and killing spree on it’s subway systems over the last several weeks. Criminals do not walk around with any fear of reprisal and many are multiple time offenders simply let right out when booked
Our country and systems have been hijacked by an ideology that doesn’t utilize the most basic principles of common sense or rationale. Instead it ensures incompetence and disaster follow when the dildo of consequences arrives unlubed.
The fires in California are the latest in repeated instances that highlight the lunacy of leftist politics and bureaucracy with damages estimated at over $50B already. But in this situation it’s not just a matter of being inconvenienced, annoyed, or put out — it’s a matter of life and death.
As someone with members of the Fire Service in my family, it’s quite obvious that not only has this disaster been entirely mishandled by those ruling the people of California, but the very people who can help are operating in a system that has made the job almost impossible to do properly.
We’re only a few days into 2025 and already things are spiraling out of control. As we’ll talk about today — when systems begin to break and the consequences of inept policy start to show, very often there is nowhere to hide.

A Case Study: California
Some of you might know this but I am actually originally from California. Born in SoCal and raised in NorCal. The politics unfortunately have been a major factor and reason why I haven’t returned. Still — California’s weather, terrain, and outdoor activities are unrivaled.
Frankly it’s fucking disgusting what has been allowed to happen to the state of California. California is a monument to the far left bullshit that has come to characterize modern politics, leaving a wake of carnage in it’s path. Common sense is gone. Corruption is rampant. There is zero accountability for anyone anymore.
Southern California is facing multiple wildfires, with significant damage and evacuations reported. The Palisades Fire has consumed over 16,000 acres, destroying hundreds of structures and forcing over 100,000 residents to evacuate. In Altadena, the Eaton Fire has burned 10,000 acres, resulting in two fatalities. A new blaze, the Sunset Fire, has prompted mandatory evacuations in the Hollywood Hills. Looting is being reported by firefighters and law enforcement.
At least five deaths and thousands of displaced residents have been reported across affected areas. Over 1,000 structures have been destroyed, and air quality has deteriorated significantly, impacting millions. Firefighting efforts are ongoing, but strong winds and dry conditions are making containment difficult.
Evacuation orders remain in place, and health advisories urge residents to stay indoors due to hazardous air quality from homes and toxic items burning. Federal disaster assistance has been approved to aid response efforts, and emergency shelters are accommodating those displaced. Residents are advised to prioritize safety and stay informed as the situation develops.
As of last night the fires are spreading out even further reaching Hollywood. Winds are coming in at over 100 MPH spreading fires more quickly, 25,000+ acres have urned, and there are reportedly 7 primary fires raging. Palisades, Pasadena, Malibu, Hollywood Hills, and Studio City as of last night have fires raging.
What we have here is a severe calamity exacerbated by incompetence and far left policy. Not to mention this could be entirely a case of arson (but more on that later - Police allegedly received a report of five men in ski masks that started a fire in Studio City last night).
So what’s happening on the ground? Well it’s just peachy.
