Good morning kings.
Before we get into today’s topic which is about building a six figure newsletter, want to give a quick shoutout to one of our longest brand partners who has some new product just in time for Veiny season.
Jay Butler made some big noise entering the loafer game years ago — making solid styles of loafers that fell nicely between super high end Guccis/Ferragamos and lower tier loafers you might use as beaters. One of the things that I wasn’t crazy about was the shorter tongue they had — although it did allow for some epic tan lines. I am pumped to announced Jay Butler is launching a new line of Driving Loafers — both with a bit and without.
Not only have the lengthened the tongue, but they’ve also kept the classic driver look so many of us love for causal outings, summer bar crawls, or drinks after Golf. Paired with the good make of Jay Butler’s and the range of styles they have I am thrilled to rock the new drivers this summer.
Jay Butler is running a Tax Day sale through the 19th for 15% off the entire site. I will be a copping a pair or two of the drivers for the spring and summer. If you’re looking for comfortable, durable, and stylish loafers or drivers that you don’t have to sell your left arm for check them out.

How To Build a Six Figure Newsletter
I spend a lot of time talking about building different types of income on the internet and with good reason.
In today’s world the ability to:
a.) make money from anywhere
b.) hedge against job loss
c.) not cap your earnings in a W2 job
all serve as incredibly important reasons to start trying to make money on your own.
When I started Arbitrage Andy as a meme page in 2017 I never thought I would be able to turn it into a full time job where I got the ability to create content, work with brands, and eventually branch out into different forms of media to reach people all over the world.
Since I started Arb Letter in May of 2022 the newsletter has grown substantially — surpassing 24,500 free subscribers. Arb Letter is read in 49 states and over 150 countries. The newsletter also brings in six figures of revenue from paid subscribers and ad deals. Something I never dreamed would happen. I’ve always loved to write — never in a million years did I think I could get paid to do it.
Today I want to give you all an overview of how I set out building it, when the right moment is to offer a paid version, and how to continue to keep readers engaged over the long term so the growth is sustainable.
I am an example others can look to and try to replicate if they are interested in a career in writing, social media, or online business.
Today we will cover all of the following in detail:
When to start a newsletter
How to pick a newsletter topic
How to drive traffic and engagement
When to offer a paid option
How to create a sustainable brand
Why create a newsletter? Why make it Paid?
If you’re someone who naturally reads or writes a lot or follows topics closely in your free time, starting a newsletter is not only a great way to express your opinions, commentary, or viewpoints, but it could eventually pay off if you’re able to build something differentiated.
The market opportunity is seismic as well.
There are currently 4 billion daily email users and this figure is expected to continue rise to 4.6 billion by 2025.
Paid newsletters often offer exclusive content that is not available elsewhere. This is going to be the strongest incentive for subscribers to pay for access (more on that later). With the advent of easy to use and navigate newsletter solutions like Substack and Beehiv the barrier to entry from a technical and distribution perspective has been lessened significantly.
If you’re feeling the pressures of the current macroeconomic environment or want to amplify your efforts to generate additional income to win your financial freedom, starting a paid newsletter is one of the best ways to do so and the freedom that comes with it is almost better. For those of you already active on social media — the transition to a newsletter is logical. It’s another arena for your followers and like minded subscribers to gather in.
It should come as no surprise in this day and age that people are looking elsewhere for their news, updates, and content. We are bombarded with true misinformation, agendas, and propaganda and oftentimes it is difficult to find relatable individuals or folks that can break down complex issues into laymen’s terms.
For those of you interested in additional income, writing, or the chance to build a unique brand online for your viewpoints and commentary this guide will position you to get started on that journey immediately with real examples from the journey I took to build a six figure newsletter in less than two years with over 24,500 subscribers.
