EXOTIC MARKETS
As we enter the holidays season, here at Arbitrage Andy we want to ensure you are getting the latest market updates, ARB opps, and deals. In this edition of ARB Letter we touch on several high profile news events and economic events that will surely impact goings ons as we enter the conclusion of 2021.
Joe Biden announced Monday he is renominating Jerome Powell for his second term as Federal Reserve chair. Money Printer go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Powell’s renomination comes as inflation has exceeded expectations in recent months, leading the Fed to walk back its predictions that the rise in prices that accompanied the reopening of the economy would be “transitory.” Some critics have said the Fed is waiting too long to tighten monetary policy (CNBC).
A SUV that sped through a Christmas parade in the US state of Wisconsin on Sunday caused five deaths and left more than 40 people injured and 5 people dead, police said. The suspect is below. No major news media outlet is running was running this photo when I found it on the dark web OR covering this event properly. Most media article verbiage around the event absolves him of any responsibility. Also worth mentioning his bail is about $5,000. Rittenhouse bail was $2mm - riddle me that.
MercadoLibre (MELI -5.3%) will now allow MercadoPago customers to buy, sell, and hold crypto using their digital wallets. Huge move for the Brazilian E commerce company.
2 Year Treasury yields hit a pandemic ATH with JPOW‘s nomination
CRYPTO
Crypto down on the day so far with BTC falling below $56,000 and ETH falling below $4,000 before bouncing back up over those levels as I type this. I remain bullish on blue chip crypto through year end. I remain very bullish on $LINK and $ETH specifically, my gut is too many retail folks are spreading money across shit projects right now. This dip is likely a shakeout related to the JPOW announcement( people want back into stocks LOL) and because most people are selling for money to buy holiday gifts or PS4s at Best Buy on Friday. Grave mistake imho.
As I have mentioned before the Bowtied Bull Substack and Twitter is one of the most valuable resources on the web for crypto/e commerce/ self improvement education. I wouldn’t have the exposure and low entries I have to crypto without them or my digital business presence. Last week we were also treated to this excellent interview with the BTC size god himself Michael Saylor.
Take care to monitor your positions and protect your investments in cold storage over the next several months. The more institutions we see come into the space the higher the likelihood of more volatility and nefarious actors being on the hunt. Additionally I expect some sort of FUD inspired black swan event.
In other crypto news Sotheby’s had an auction last week in which equity size lord and villain Ken Griffin outbid the popular DAO who was bidding for a copy of the US Constitution. Salty AF about $GME and $AMC.
