I turn 30 this Fall.
It’s been an insane 30 years on this earth. One thing I’m proud of is that I don’t have that many regrets at this milestone. That’s gotta count for something right?
In thinking about this milestone and the last 5 years running Andy I wanted to offer up a deep dive on some of the aspects of how I work and approach the world.
I’ve compiled a list of direct actions and proceses that can help you build confidence, progress further in life, and make you feel better about yourself and who you are becoming. I am far from a guru or expert in this space - but I feel I have some valuable lessons to share that I have learned in my first 9-10 years in sales, trading, e commerce, writing, brand building/company building, and life.
We’ll cover and elaborate on 10 ways you can implement in 24 hours that I feel are the key ways to finding relative happiness, success, and fulfillment in life. These are things I have begun to highly prioritize as I move into a different stage of life after a wild ride in my twenties.
I want to tell you why I think this article is going to be a great resource and guide for people, particularly in the next year. We focus a lot on the raw reality of the world and financial markets quite a bit in Arb Letter. This will be a set of tips to help you conquer the world and build a life worth living.
In the coming months we are likely going to see a recession or mild depression at the very least. If you’re in finance, fin tech, or tech, you are already seeing people “leaving” “Moving on” or “being forced out”. Vibes are not good. The writing is all over the wall - firms are preparing to drastically cut costs. Some firms are firing people straight up, and others are finding ways to simply cull the herd without freaking out the rest of employees - yet.
Like we’ve said, we expect weak men to make hard times soon.
Google, Facebook, and other firms that have historically been the pioneers of WFH and lax work life balance cultures are turning on employees and trimming the fat - can’t expect much else after the insane bull market and affluence that the last several years has brought.
But there is also something else at play I have noticed. Ideal, woke, and soft people are being exposed as the tide goes out. Life is all about cycles and right now we are at the end of a nice little run.
For many years corporate excess, over-valuated shitcos, and excess was the law of the land, but with recent political and financial conditions and a worsening economic state, shit is about to hit the fan. In some respects this is helpful as it cleanses the system, like a forest fire makes way for richer soil and growth.
But the road will be rocky in the next several years and people with bad personal habits are going to suffer exponentially.
It is my hope that this list helps you cut through the noise and bullshit and focus on the only thing that really matter: you.
As I mentioned I am far from some life living guru or millionaire playboy media baron but still - I have valuable points to share, some maybe common, some you’ve maybe never heard before. I can assure you that the consistent implementation and mindful application of these values and actions leads directly to success. Success while relative to everybody, can still be summed up in my opinion.
People want security. They want to be healthy. They want to be recognized and relied on. They want people that love them and people they love. They want money and fulfillment/purpose.
In this day and age we’ve strayed extremely far from tried and true proceses for succeeding in life, overcoming adversity, remaining competitive, and making it in the game of life.
Is eating seamless every other day, working a 9-5, commuting, being out of shape, not having financial freedom, dealing with shitty co workers, going home, drinking beer, dealing with an annoying partner and zoning out to NFLX the life you want to keep living?
Let’s walk through the ten ways to improve yourself overnight. Escape the matrix and work to win the game of life.
